Sex Offender Policy Board

Today was Brad's first meeting of the newly created Sex Offender Policy Board. Brad represents the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers on this Board that was newly created by the 2008 Washington Legislature. The mandate of this board is to advise the Legislature regarding the state of the research on sex offenders and sex offender management, the best practices in sex offender management including any recommended changes to Washington law. Brad had participated in the Governor's Sex Offender Discussion Group in 2007, which lead to his appointment by WACDL to this Board. This meeting was a get to know each other. The other members of the Board have a great deal of experience and knowledge to share, and it seems everyone is committed to working together to find solutions to the real problems that arise in sex offender management.
